Arbor Day with Denver Mattress: Sleep Sustainably, Live Greener
Arbor Day isn’t just a date on the calendar—it’s a call to action and a celebration of our ongoing commitment to sustainability. Every mattress we craft at Denver Mattress is a step toward a healthier planet and a better night’s sleep. This Arbor Day, we’re excited to share how our eco-friendly practices, innovative products, and inspiring partnerships are making a real impact, from our factory floor to forests across the nation.
Eco-Friendly from the Inside Out: Our Mattress Factory Revamp
Back in 2007, we made a bold decision: to completely restructure our mattress production facility with the environment in mind. That wasn’t a one-time change—it was the beginning of a journey that continues today. Here’s what sets our factory apart:
- Reduced Energy Consumption: We restructured and reorganized our manufacturing process to drastically reduce the energy and man power needed to produce our top-of-the-line products.
- Recycled Steel Coils: Every Denver Mattress brand mattress is built with coils made exclusively from recycled steel, reducing the need for new raw materials and minimizing our environmental footprint.
- Material Upcycling: We recapture and upcycle well over 90% of our unused materials. That means less waste in landfills and more resources conserved for future generations.
- Continuous Innovation: Our manufacturing center and warehouses were all refitted with LED lighting. No matter the innovation, we’re constantly finding new ways to improve to stay ahead in sustainability.

A Partnership That Grows: Denver Mattress + Arbor Day Foundation

Our commitment to the planet goes beyond our own walls. Since 2000, we’ve proudly partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation, the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to planting and nurturing trees. Here’s what our partnership looks like:
- Annual Giving: We donate a minimum of $10,000 each year, helping to plant at least 10,000 trees annually. To date, our support has resulted in the planting of over 340,000 new trees!
- Restoring Ecosystems: Our contributions have supported projects like the Bootleg Fire Restoration in Oregon, where nearly 3 million trees were planted to heal fire-damaged lands, and the Longleaf Pine Ecosystem Restoration in Texas, reviving critical habitats for hundreds of species.

- Better Sleep, Better Planet: Did you know trees can actually help you sleep better? Research shows that spending time around trees reduces stress, which is a leading cause of poor sleep. By supporting reforestation, we’re helping you rest easier...in more ways than one!
“We always knew that our partnership would be good for the planet, but… we learned that our partnership was even more beneficial than we thought. Trees can actually help people sleep better.” - From the blog post
Introducing the Colorado Mattress: 100% Sourced and Made in the USA
We believe sustainability starts at home. That’s why we’ve doubled down on sourcing materials locally, cutting back on energy waste, and fossil fuel consumption. Our latest achievement? The Colorado Mattress — a model that’s 100% sourced and made right here in the USA.
- Local Sourcing: By working with American suppliers, we reduce transportation emissions and support local economies.
- Energy Savings: Our streamlined supply chain means less energy used from start to finish.
- Proudly American: The Colorado Mattress is a testament to our roots and our responsibility to the environment.
