Rated 5 out of 5 by from A necessity for homes with children and pets I purchased this protector for my new Doctors Choice mattress. I was a little skeptical as it is polyurethane and I did not want to sweat, but this pad is breathable and I have no issues with comfort. In reality, I can not tell its there. Any home with pets know that sometimes animals find their way onto beds. Well this protector did its job in protecting my new mattress. There was absolutely no odor on my mattress and the protector washed out with no issue. Well worth the money!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not waterproof at all I bought this encasment the same day i got my mattress to ensure it wouldnt stain and keep my bed under warrenty. Well we got a new puppy and she had an accident on the bed. I wasnt worried since i paid to have a waterproof cover but when i took the cover off to wash it it soaked into the foam of my mattress ruining said mattress since its next to impossible to get liquid out of a foam mattress.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not waterproof I purchased this mattress cover at the same time I purchased my mattress from Denver Mattress Company. This was roughly around 2015-2016 and this was the first mattress cover we'd ever purchased. What attracted us to the item was that it was waterproof (we have pets that like to sleep with us) and we, like many, sweat in our sleep at night and so we saw this has a nice way to preserve our mattress. Well, we ended up moving from a small college town (where we purchased our mattress and mattress cover from Denver Mattress Company) to Chicago. When it came time to move, we went into our (at the time) local Denver Mattress Company to see about purchasing a new mattress but having it shipped to our new address. Unfortunately, there's not a Denver Mattress near Chicago. So, I had to go to another store to buy a new mattress and have it shipped. We ended up spending about $1,400 for a new mattress and sheets and this morning, wouldn't you know, one of our pets had an accident on the bed and it went through the mattress protector. We've had this mattress for just under 4-months and I feel like it's now ruined in a sense because liquid seeps through cloth... it's not like you can just clean it all out. We called Denver Mattress and they are more than happy to replace the protector but the bigger problem is that I now have a $1,400 mattress that is now ruined because the protector was not, in fact, waterproof. Prior to this experience, I was happy with this protector because it seemed to keep the mattress clean and clear. I would've given it a 5/5, but now I'm more at a 2/5. I just feel so bummed and defeated that this product failed me on what I thought it was supposed to do.
